In honor of the township’s Bicentennial Anniversary, the Chapman Township Board of Supervisors made available to the public a collection of Limited Edition Commemorative Henry rifles for anyone interested in a collector’s grade rifle, family heirloom, or gift.
The commemorative rifles included three models; the Henry Standard, the Henry Golden Boy, and the Henry Big Boy.
Henry rifle history: Benjamin Tyler Henry invented the first practical, lever action repeating rifle. The Henry rifle, patented in 1860, gave a single man the firepower of a dozen marksmen armed with muzzle loading muskets. The rifle changed the outcome of several engagements in the Civil War. The Henry rifle would go on to play a significant, if not dominant role in the frontier days of the American West. It would soon become one of the most legendary, respected, and sought-after rifles in the history of firearms. A contemporary collection isn’t complete without a Henry rifle.
