Want to hear about paranormal investigations in Renovo?
The Lock Haven Paranormal Seekers have been to Renovo on investigations. LHPS is Clinton County’s longest-lasting and most reliable ghost-hunting team. Operating on a scientific basis, LHPS uses measuring devices to record audio, video, electromagnetic readings, and temperature to attempt to locate possible hauntings.
LHPS runs their investigations in a manner that requires proof. There are no psychics who expect you to take their word for it, and no rumors repeated. All information comes from measurable results and historic research.
And they’re investigated Renovo several times.
One house, on Huron Avenue near Yesterday’s, was the subject of an LHPS investigation almost twenty years ago. The family was experiencing the sound of footsteps in the hall and on the stairs, things moving around, and the father in the family feeling something holding him down in his bed. They called in LHPS, who did the historic research and performed the investigation. The team was at the home until two in the morning, looking into the situation for the family.
Back in January, LHPS came to Renovo again. They investigated the old Maxwell Funeral Home, now the home of Renovo Heritage. With new members on the team, they looked into the people who worked and sometimes died in the building, and the traumatic events the funeral home experienced, dating back nearly a century.
A lot of people approach LHPS to ask about coming along on an investigation. This is not usually possible due to confidentiality policies, but both of these investigations will be featured on the upcoming tour of Renovo, as well as many more stories. https://www.facebook.com/events/1099720042403342
The tour will begin at 530 Erie Avenue at seven PM on October 25th, taking roughly an hour. Five dollars per person is the fee, and it will be donated to the Renovo Heritage Foundation.

2026 Renovo Ghost Walk Story Series: The Renovo Hitchhiker

Renovo, Pennsylvania has a lot of history to it. And in the area, there are a lot of haunted stories. So many, in fact, that the Lock Haven Paranormal Seekers will be sponsoring a haunted tour on October 25th.
The tour begins at seven PM at the Renovo Heritage office on Erie Avenue. The five dollar per person entrance fee will be donated to the Renovo Heritage Foundation. And anyone who attends will be able to learn a lot of fascinating stories about the ghosts of the greater Renovo area.
For instance, do you know about the vanishing hitchhiker on the Renovo Road? In the 1950s, a young man named Dave was going to college at Lock Haven University, and dating a girl who lived in Renovo. They would meet up, often spending the evening in Lock Haven, and then he would drive her home, because this was in the days when gas cost a nickel. Every night, after dropping her off, he would head back to Lock Haven. One night he saw a young man walking along the Renovo Road, just outside of town. He assumed it was one of his classmates from the college, and it being a pretty long walk in the dark, Dave stopped to offer the young man a ride.
The two of them chatted on the way back to Lock Haven….And then something happened.
The young man disappeared.
“As we rode into town, I was talking to him, and in mid-sentence I turned to look at him, there in the passenger seat,” Dave said in a later interview. “And he wasn’t there! I hadn’t stopped anywhere, and there was no way for him to leave the car. But he was gone!”
Dave never forgot the incident, and he told it later, as an old man. The story will be part of the ghost tour on the 25th, and for further details, go to: https://gorenovopa.com/event/renovo-ghost-tour-2026

October 13, 20232023 Rock-A-Thon
For the entire month of October, the Alpha Sigma Tau Chapter of Lock Haven University will be raising money for both their local and national philanthropies, Roads to Peace and Dress for Success. Throughout the month, they have planned a few fundraisers to help not only spread awareness of these great organizations but also to help support these organizations in any way that they can.
On October 13th and 14th, they will be hosting their biggest fundraiser of the year, their annual Rock-A-Thon! For 24 hours, their sisters will rock on rocking chairs all day and night to raise money for both of their philanthropies. This event runs from 2 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday in front of the Lock Haven University bell tower. As you drive by to the PA State Flaming Foliage Festival, stop by and say, “Hi!”
