Francis C Conti was born on October 15, 1922, the son of Anthony and Clara Bruno Conti He died on July 31, 1979, at the age of 56. He resided at 163 Clinton Avenue, South Renovo, PA
He was part of the 652nd Bombardment Squadron (Heavy) and an Army flyboy from WWII. He served from September 26, 1942, until December 21, 1945. He is buried in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hyner, PA.
Sgt. Francis C. Conti was among the members of the 8th Airborne Division who were congratulated by Lieutenant General James H. Doolittle. The 8th Airborne piloted the first American bombers to attack Germany and dropped an average, one ton of bombs every minute during a twelve-month period.
