Charles E. Stimpson was born on November 7, 1921, in East Keating Township. He was the son of Howard L and Ruth E Stimpson. At one time, he lived at 1208 Huron Avenue Renovo, PA.

Staff Sergeant Charles E. Stimpson of Keating, a member of the Army Air Corps 509 AF Bomb Group, was reported missing after his plane was shot down in Europe. He became a German prisoner until he was freed by American troops in May 1945. After his discharge, he re-enlisted in 1946. He was killed near Roswell, New Mexico on June 1, 1950, at the age of 28, when the tail section of his B-29 disintegrated during a crash at the airbase.

Stimpson Cemetery is located off of Route 120 on private land in the village of Keating, Clinton County, PA.
